Babies don’t retain body heat as well as adults. So it’s best to dress the little one in one extra layer of clothing than you would wear yourself, according to Parents.com. Keep her extremities covered with gloves, boots and a hat, and add a sweater underneath her coat.

Snow time
Snow is fascinating for your crawling baby. It’s probably even more exciting for you as a new parent to play with your baby in the snow. The most important thing with snow is keeping dry – baby and parent. Make sure all of your baby’s gear is waterproof – snow jacket, pants, boots, etc. If you baby starts to shiver or cry, he may be cold. It’ll be time to go indoors to warm up, then.

Indoors
Now, once inside, it’s time to take off a few of your baby’s layers. But depending on the temperature inside, you may want to keep a sweater or socks on your baby to make sure she doesn’t get too cold. Experts say the best way to tell a baby’s temperature is to touch her back or stomach, feeling for any sweat. According to Parents.com, sweating, damp hair, flushed cheeks and rapid breathing are signs of overheating for your baby.
