Hyperpigmentation of the skin causes uneven coloring of the skin, usually in dark patches. Many people are familiar with hyperpigmentation due to acne scars, but hyperpigmentation can occur on any part of the body such as the face, neck, hands, arms, and legs.

These dark spots can affect one’s confidence in their appearance. However, this does not need to be the case, you can get rid of your dark spots naturally with simple items you may have in your home already.

Lemon. What makes lemon an efficient method for battling hyperpigmentation is because it contains citric acid. The citric acid is a natural bleaching agent that effectively fades dark spots. You can do this by extracting fresh lemon juice and apply it to the skin with a cotton ball. Leave it on for15 minutes, and rinse with water. Complete this twice daily to improve results. Those with sensitive skin should dilute the lemon juice with water before application.

Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) works wonder for the body inside and out. But, when it comes to reducing the appearance of dark spots due to hyperpigmentation, its powers are miraculous. Besides lightening abilities, it is also used as an astringent that will help restore your skin to its natural shade.

You can use ACV by mixing equal parts of ACV and water. Then apply the solution to the skin and leave for two to three minutes, rinse with water. You can also add two teaspoons of ACV to a warm glass of water. With either method, complete it twice daily.

Vitamin E. Vitamin E is miraculous for the skin, which is why it is often referred to as the skin vitamin. Vitamin E works against hyperpigmentation because it is an antioxidant.

Antioxidants neutralize the effects of harmful UV rays, working to protect and repair the skin. The application of vitamin E can be done in several ways. First, make afacial mask with papaya and the contents of vitamin E capsules. Apply to the affected skin for twenty minutes and rinse.

Another method is to mix the contents of vitamin E capsules with castor oil, then apply the mixture to the face and rinse. Lastly, massage vitamin E oil into the affected skin for ten minutes.

Aloe vera. Aloe vera is known for its endless uses and healing capabilities. This is why it is extremely effective when it comes to healing hyperpigmented skin. The gel can remove dead skin while promoting the regeneration of new skin cells. The application for aloe vera is simple. Apply the gel before bed and let dry, rinse it off in the morning. You can also mix aloe vera and raw honey and apply it to the skin. Once applied, let dry for twenty minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water.

Remember these methods take time before you see a significant difference.
