Not all the potential remedies for stomach pain have to be ingested. Sometimes, placing a heating pad or hot towel on your stomach can do the trick. Heat has been shown to relax the muscles, which can cause pain.

If you’re using this option, you shouldn’t keep the heat on your stomach for more than 20-30 minutes at a time.

When You Need A Doctor

The first thing you should note is that stomach pain that lasts for more than a few days or doesn’t go away at all is usually cause for concern. You should also seek a doctor if the pain in your stomach is sudden or severe.

Other signs that you need medical intervention are sweating, a tender stomach, bloody stool, vomiting blood, difficulty breathing, unexplained weight loss, chest pain, and jaundice.
