For more than a decade, BlackDoctor's Top Blacks in Healthcare Gala has stood as a powerful celebration of excellence, innovation, and impact across the healthcare landscape. This year, our signature event returned to the nation's capital to bring together the leading Black physicians, executives, researchers, and changemakers for a glamorous and inspiring evening.
Hosted at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C. on April 23, 2026, this year’s awards gala recognized 12 honorees for their achievements, along with musical and dance artistry, fine dining, and tributes to the leaders and changemakers improving health outcomes for Black families.
Our 10th Annual Thought Leadership Summit, held at The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Healht, served as a day-long summit, that gathered thought leaders, physicians, experts, and advocates for fireside chats and moderated panels filled with meaningful dialogue about health inequities, data-driven advances, and solutions.
Leading up to the gala, we were proud to induct the second class of honorees into our Top Blacks in Healthcare "Hall of Fame" — which recognizes trailblazers whose contributions have not only shaped the field, but paved the way for future generations -- along with our inaugural "Rising Star" award recipient.
