Brandy, better known as @Monet_Reloaded on Instagram, is a single mother of two who went through a 200+ pound weight loss. Her story is truly an inspiration for anyone, male or female, who wants to lose weight.

She’s not only a consultant for underground & indie music artists and producers, she’s an online fitness and wellness coach who specializes in the Keto Diet. When we heard her story of triumph from a number of her fans, we knew we had to feature her.

“I did yo-yo diets here and there but could never stick to it or take it seriously,” explains Brandy to The Femme Fatale Femme Club. “Plus I told myself “I love the skin I’m in” and tried to embrace my BBW movement. Then September 10, 2014 (a month and a week before my 30th birthday) I had to have an emergency surgery and ended up DYING.”

“I flatlined several times after the surgery in recovery and the reason I was told later was because I was too overweight. That CHANGED MY LIFE.”

“Here I am not even 30 years old and about to die from being FAT, something I could fix. Plus I had been told since 18 years old that I would never be a mother so all of this was the reason I TOOK MY LIFE BACK.”

“When God gave me breath in my body again, I was DETERMINED to LIVE and BECOME A MOTHER.”

“I started my journey after the September 2014 incident. I got down to 198lb by August 2015 and then my mother suddenly died while on vacation with my family. The next month September 2015 I found out I was exactly four weeks pregnant with my son.”

“I maintained a weight of about 210 lbs throughout that pregnancy. Then when he was five almost six months old October 2016 I found out I was almost five months pregnant with my daughter at 199 lbs. I went up to 247 lbs by February 2018 and started the Keto diet in May 2018.”

“From May 2018 until Oct 2018, I got down to 174 with Keto alone and no exercise. October 28, 2018, I had skin removal surgery to remove 13 lbs of skin from my stomach.”

“When I started I was a serious “Gym Rat” and I did A LOT of swimming, treadmill, sauna, and lightweight training. I worked out 5 days a week and never ate more than 1000 calories a day.”

“But after all this with the children, death, and divorce I couldn’t find time to work out and started on Keto.”

“I started with small steps and CUT OUT SODA. That was my one addiction. I am not a person who likes sweets but I love chips, bread, and potatoes.”

“So needless to say all that had to go. I also realized the actual SCIENCE of eating and taught myself food is for FUEL not fun.”

When asked about the advice she would give for someone looking to get started with their fitness journey, here’s where she said they should begin:

“Remember you didn’t gain the weight LAST NIGHT so you can’t lose it by MORNING. Be patient with yourself and everyone’s journey is their own don’t compare.”

“Also.. until you fix what is wrong mentally and emotionally, you’ll never be successful at weight loss. My phrase is TEARS WEIGH MORE THAN FAT. (I also offer online coaching let me help you. …you aren’t alone in this).”

“That there is some magic pill or tea that will erase YEARS OF BODY ABUSE AND NEGLECT. But that’s not the case you HAVE TO WANT IT.”
