According to ABC News, Chobani issued a voluntary recall of its Greek yogurt after numerous reports of people getting sick and containers exploding.

The company has been working with retailers to remove and replace containers with the code 16-012 and expiration dates Sept. 11 to Oct. 7. Chobani representatives have stated that the problem has been traced to a type of mold commonly found in dairy, and that 5% of the affected products are in stores.

Customers have expressed concern that Chobani waited too long to take action, and have been complaining on Facebook and Twitter. Some of the social media comments included that the yogurt was too thin, too thick, too lumpy, or bubbly, that many flavors didn’t taste the same as they used to, and that they felt very sick after consuming the product. Other complaints focused on the fact that comments about product concerns left on the Chobani company webpage were deleted shortly afterwards.

Chobani recently posted this comment: “Here at Chobani, nothing is more important to us than the quality of our products and the safety and satisfaction of our customers. Recently, we heard quality concerns surrounding certain cups, which were experiencing swelling or bloating…our thorough investigation has identified a type of mold commonly found in the dairy environment. The product in question is less than 5% of our production and is limited to cups produced at our Idaho facility, which accounts for only one third of our production capacity.”
