Two Year Old Amputee Walks For First Time: “I Got It!”

kayden3

There are only a few things more inspirational than a young child learning how to do something that many of us take for granted. This video of this young child learning how to walk for the first time with his prosthetic leg and a walker is not only inspirational, but informative.

Kayden Elijah was born with an Omhalocele (organs remain outside the body) and also had a band wrap around his legs and feet while he was in the womb, which lead to some deformity. Kayden had two abdominal surgeries and then in January had his right foot amputated and his left leg. Kayden’s family is raising money for extra physical therapy visits, braces and prosthetics for Kayden and to pay off outstanding medical bills. They are also in the process of publishing a book about his life and prayerfully have him attend a camp for children with prosthetics in Atlanta when he is old enough.

While they are facing various challenges, the family is confident and faithful that God will make a way for him to have a wonderful life and not have to go to special schools. Kayden is currently learning to walk with a walker even though the Doctors stated he wouldn’t make it and to terminate the pregnancy.
