5 Ways To Plan An Inexpensive Wedding

Statistics show that American weddings cost anywhere between $20,000 and $40,000. Who has that kind of money in today’s world? If you do not want to spend thousands on your wedding day, there are many different options out there to make sure you stay on budget and still get everything you want.

1. Rent your wedding dress
If you do not want to spend thousands of dollars on a dress that you are only going to wear one time, renting your wedding dress is a great option. Rent The Runway has a wide variety of designer dresses at affordable prices that you can buy, wear on your special day and then return it!

If you do not want to rent a dress try a consignment shop or thrift store as they always have cute and affordable options. These are also great options for bridesmaids dresses.

2. Rent your wedding tux
Tuxedos can get expensive especially when buying them for multiple groomsmen. Websites like The Black Tux and Menguin are similar to Rent The Way as they provide affordable designer tuxedos for men.

The cool thing about The Black Tux is you can

order an entire 4-piece outfit including shoes, a pocket square, a dress shirt and a suit. This takes the hassle out of scrambling to put together an entire outfit for multiple men.

3. DIY centerpieces and decorations
We live in the age of DIY via YouTube and HGTV! There’s no need to spend hundreds of dollars on centerpieces and decorations that you and your bridal party can easily do yourselves.

Pinterest has plenty of websites and images showing you how to bring to life the vision you have for your wedding all the while staying within your means. Craft stores like Michaels and Jo-Ann Fabrics have everything you need to create your amazing decorations.

4. Buy cheap flowers
Real flowers are a beautiful accessory to add to your wedding as they look and smell amazing. Real flowers can get pricey so the best way to save money when choosing flowers is by visiting your local flower shop, flower mart or grocery store and checking out what they have to offer. You can get a large number of flowers for a cheap price and no one will know the difference.

5. Pick an open location
The location of your wedding is probably the most important part besides picking your dress and no one wants to have their wedding at a location they’ll look back on later and regret. You also don’t have to have an expensive location.

Depending on the theme and season of your wedding, open locations are

most often than not free of charge. Places like state parks are cheap but beautiful locations to have weddings. Also, if you know someone with a backyard, don’t hesitate to ask a favor. You can easily accentuate the space with beautiful decorations you made yourself.

Society and even your friends and family may convince you that you need to spend thousands of dollars on the wedding of your dreams but that is far from the truth. With these tips, you can save money and still have the wedding of a lifetime!
