6 Tips To Bringing Bae Home For The Holidays

New love will make you want to do some crazy things like inviting your partner over to your family’s house for the holidays. When it comes to bringing home your significant other for the first time, we all know that it could turn out a number of ways. Could there be an easier way to invite them into madness?

The answer is, yes! Check out these 6 helpful tips to bringing your partner home for the first time:

1. The Invitation is Key

Featured on BlackDoctor

When you invite someone to meet your family and close friends for the first time, it is imperative to know why you are extending the invite. Make sure that this person is someone you want to stick around for a while.

This is important so you’re not sending mixed signals if the relationship isn’t that serious for you. Know that when a person is meeting your parents, it’s actually a BIG deal for

them and it should be for you too.

2. Inform Your Family

Ring your family and let them know that you have a new “friend” that you would like them to meet. Let them know what that person means to you and why.

Informing your family in detail beforehand will most definitely bring a sense of ease once they meet in person.

3. Confirm Accommodations

At this time, decide whether you, your family, and your partner feel comfortable with staying at the family home or if it’s in your best interest to get a hotel. The most important thing is to make sure everyone feels comfortable and not inconvenienced in any way.

4. Coordinate Travel Plans

Decide whether you’re both getting there by car, plane, or train. The most important thing is to just get there together. Talk about splitting costs and layout time schedules so

you both are on the same page.

5. Brief Your Partner

Give your partner the rundown on everything, from your neighborhood to your cousin who likes to ask a thousand and one questions. Briefing your partner will bring ease to any situation that may occur and eliminate any surprises.

6. Stay In The Moment

People often get somewhat too excited to bring home their significant other. It can actually bring some anxiety. Make sure to stay in the moment and remember that nothing and no one is perfect. Let loose and have fun!
