During the annual CIAA conference, BlackDoctor.org and Astellas Pharmaceuticals joined forces to bring health and wellness to the over 30,000 alumni and fans that converge on Charlotte, NC to attend the 4-day event.
During the weekend of games, concerts, parties and events, BlackDoctor.org and Astellas had a presence in the arena and the Fan Fest to ensure that eventgoers all had the chance to experience the “Ticket To Health”.
The Ticket To Health serves two purposes:
-On one side it gives users African-American specific screening guidelines for every major disease or condition.
-On the other side of the ticket, users were able to win an exciting vacation for two to their choice of Las Vegas, Cancun or a cruise to the Caribbean.
During the events, users also got a chance to test their knowledge of various health topics by spinning the “Wheel of Health”.
And last, but not least, the two powerhouses BlackDoctor.org & Astellas partnered with local health system Novant Health in Charlotte to bring FOX TV’s “Empire” Jessie Smollett to the Fan Fest and share some his thoughts on health.
Over the weekend, BlackDoctor & Astellas:
-Gave away 4,100 tickets to health (BlackDoctor)
-Reached over 1.5 million via online promotion (BDO & Astellas)
-Handed out over 2,700 items (Astellas)
-Partnered with Novant Health to screen over 8,200 people (BlackDoctor)
-Gave away over $16,000 worth of vacations (BlackDoctor)
-Solidifed the first-ever CIAA Health Pavillion for many years to come (Astellas)
All in all, it was a fun time that not only informed attendees about health, but gave them much needed release.
