It’s Our Anniversary! 25 Years Of Barack & Michelle

(*singing the Toni, Tony, Tone’ song, “Do you know what today Is?/ It’s our anniversary!”)

October 3, 2017 marks the 25th Anniversary of former President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama. It’s a love story that continues with hidden love notes, kisses, sultry looks and other public displays of affection that have been caught on camera.

The two first met in 1989 when Barack was a summer associate at Sidley Austin, the law firm she worked at, and had a lunch date that included a trip to the museum, lunch and a movie. It’s been said its one the longest first dates in history. They married three years later in 1992.

In an interview with CBS, Mrs. Obama said something special for women looking for dating advice, “The advice I would give to woman: don’t look at the bank book or the title. Look at the heart, look at the soul.”

“When you’re dating a man you should always feel good you should never be in a relationship with a man who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole. Find that person that brings you complete an utter joy.”

Even after you find that special person, it’s very rare to see two people still affectionate and in love after 25 years, so we had to ask the question: what does it really take to be married for 25 years? Well, the former First Lady explains it all..

“What I’ve come to find is, you don’t sweat the small stuff,” Obama told Ellen DeGeneres. “The journey that we’ve taken together, the fun we’ve had, the challenges we’ve faced, the two beautiful children that we’re raising — I kind of give him a pass now when he leaves his socks on the floor or tells that story for the one hundredth time and wants us to laugh at it as if we first heard it.”
