Bobby Brown Will Never Take Daughter Off Life Support

Around Memorial Day weekend, several rumors started up again about Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Some websites claimed that Bobby Brown planned to remove Bobbi Kristina from life support. The reports came nearly four months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31. The family received hundreds of supportive messages on social media.

The only problem: it wasn’t true. Representatives for Brown, Whitney’s mom and Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, Cissy Houston and Pat Houston quickly denied the reports to PEOPLE, calling it a “false story.”

A Brown family source tells PEOPLE that those false stories are distracting to the family. “It’s background noise,” says the source. “Bobby hears these reports, and it’s annoying to him. He hates that people are just waiting for his daughter to die.”

Bobbi Kristina’s condition has remained unchanged since she was transported to a rehab facility in March. The Brown family say they’re unwilling to give up on the 22-year-old.

“Let me tell you this now,” says the Brown family source. “Don’t believe any reports that Bobby is going to take her off life support. He’s never going to do that. I don’t think he’ll ever go there; if there’s a 2 percent chance, a 1 percent chance, a 0.1 percent chance, he will keep hope alive.”

Once someone is brain dead, that doesn’t mean they will never come out of it.  The difference between a person…

…being brain dead vs. coma is as follows:

Brain death is defined as irreversible cessation of all brain functions, including the brain stem.

Coma refers to a state of general “brain failure” characterized by severe depression of level of consciousness.
