I Am My Sister’s Keeper: Man Protects Teenage Girl From Sexual Assault

While there are lot of Marvel’s superheroes on the big screen in movies, there seems to be a shortage of real life heroes to stop the evils that come at us every day, including sexual assault.

Nearly one in five women surveyed said they had been raped or had experienced an attempted rape at some point, and even more women, one in four, confess that they have been verbally assaulted by men in public places.

When one man started to see this happen, he decided to step up.

In the video above, reported on by AJ+, Moise Morancy, who describes himself as an actor, director, hip-hop recording artist, poet, writer and activist, said in the Facebook post accompanying the video that he watched the man get on the bus, sit next to a 15-year-old girl and begin touching her hand and leg.

“At first he started caressing her hand and I saw how uncomfortable it made her,” Morancy said.

Morancy posted a video recorded by another passenger to social media, that shows the 21-year-old rapper restraining the alleged assailant before police arrived at the scene.

“Don’t you ever do that s–t again, you hear me?” Morancy said in the video.

“He was touching a little girl, and then I defended her,” Morancy told cops in the video.

Morancy said the suspect “lunged” at him and the two began fighting. The video Morancy posted shows the aftermath of that fight, with Morancy holding the suspect down until police arrived.

Police initially detained and handcuffed both Morancy and the man, identified as Pablo Levano, but Morancy was released without charges.

Morancy praised the police officers who let him go and told TV station Pix11 he wanted to thank a black sergeant on the scene.

He said: “I forget his name, but I want to say thank you.

“He said ‘you’re a hero’ and shook my hand and said ‘I was you 20 years ago’, and that touched me.”

Mr. Morancy added: “I had to do what I had to do for the girl.

“And I urge other men to step in to intervene when someone’s being sexually assaulted. It’s disgusting.”

Levano was charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, all misdemeanors.
