Kraft Recall of Cheese Slices Just Got Huge

If you thought you were safe from the last Kraft recall of cheese, you may want to take a closer look at the packages on your cheese now. The Kraft Singles recall of the popular cheese slices just became about 10 times larger.

What first included about 36,000 packages of the product recalled due to a sliver of plastic film staying attached to the cheese has now become over 335,000, according to the Associated Press.

The plastic film presents a choking hazard and comes after the initial recall by Kraft Heinz at the end of July.

The products affected include Kraft Singles American and White American cheese products in 1, 2 and 4-pound packages. The recalled items were sold in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and 10 other countries and territories, including Anguilla, the Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Netherlands Antilles, St. Kitts and Nevis, South Korea, St. Lucia, and the British Virgin Islands.

– 4-lb. Kraft Singles American

– 3-lb. Kraft Singles American (3 1-lb. packages)

– 4-lb. Kraft Singles White American

– 3-lb. Kraft Singles White American

– 1-lb. Kraft Singles White American

– 1-lb. Kraft Singles

– 3-lb. Deli Deluxe Kraft American Singles

– 3-lb. Kraft Singles American (72 individually-wrapped Singles in cardboard carton)

All of the recalled products are stamped with a “Best When Used By” date between DEC 15 and FEB 16, except for the Deli Deluxe Kraft American Singles which are dated JAN 16 through MAR 16. They also have code S54 or S 55 stamped after the date.

Kraft says only products with the S54 and S55 codes, which refer to the two production lines where the items were made, are included in the recall. A complete list of affected items, including those first recalled in July, is posted online.

Consumers can return the product for a full refund, according to the company.
