He’s a busy man but never too busy to get a check up and neither should you. That’s why actor Lamman Rucker took time out of his busy Hollywood schedule to sit down on The Check Up with Nurse Alice. In this intimate one on one interview Lamman get’s personal and shares why he teamed up with the American Heart Association.
“High blood pressure is a major health crisis in the black community,” and “blacks are disproportionally represented when it comes to having high blood pressure,” Lamman shared in his on camera interview. His messaging is right on time as we highlight May as National High Blood Pressure awareness month.
One in three Americans has high blood pressure and may not even know it because there often aren’t any warning signs. This is why getting a health check up with blood pressure screening routinely is important. High blood pressure is the leading cause of heart disease and stroke, all of which are preventable. And as Lamman shared, “you can add 5 years to your lifespan by just making intelligent lifestyle choices.”
