Like Kanye said, “50 told me go head and switch the style up/And if they hate then let ’em hate”. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen “The Electric Slide” or body rolling in a gymnastic floor routine and I absolutely LOVE IT! Lloimincia Hill, a junior at Louisiana State University (LSU), is truly making the sport of gymnastics all her own with dynamic, creative and soulful floor routines.
Lloimincia has five perfect 10s in her career and according to NOLA.com, she now has 24 career floor titles, ranking third in LSU history. On April 18, LSU will compete in the NCAA Semifinal I championships thanks in part to Lloimincia’s skillful and show stopping performances.
In addition to her love and reverence for Christ, Lloimincia also gets inspiration for her floor routines from former LSU gymnnast Ashleigh Clare-Kearney, a five-time All-American and two-time national champion. “When you look at how she used floor as some showing of expression … it’s like taking gymnastics and switching it to showing who you are,” she said.
Watch Lloimincia’s perfect 10 performance from January 2014 against Alabama and see if you can name that tune.
