Windell D. Middlebrooks, best known for his work in the Miller High Life Commercials and on ‘Parks & Recreation’ was found dead on Mar. 9, 2015. After being found unresponsive at his Los Angeles home, Windell was transferred to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was only 36 years old.
His signature big smile and Robin-Hood-Take-from-the-rich-and-give-to-the-poor personality made him almost an overnight success in Miller’s advertising campaign.
While he stole the show in those Miller High Life ads in 2008, Middlebrooks worked steadily in TV for the past 10 years, becoming a regular on Body of Proof , It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Suite Life on Deck, Cougar Town, Scrubs,Parks and Recreation, Entourage, Hannah Montana and more.

He appeared on the Disney Channel sci-fi comedy Mighty Med and he’s being remembered fondly by his fellow Disney stars.
“Rest in peace Windell Middlebrooks, our ‘Kirby,'” tweeted Debby Ryan. “You were a light to the entire Suite Life crew and cast and we’ll forever love you.”
An autopsy revealed that he suffered a fatal pulmonary embolism.
Pulmonary embolism is a blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in your lungs. In most cases, pulmonary embolism is caused by blood clots that travel to the lungs from the legs or, rarely, other parts of the body (deep vein thrombosis).
Because pulmonary embolism almost always occurs in conjunction with deep vein thrombosis, most doctors refer to the two conditions together as venous thromboembolism.
Although anyone can develop deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism, factors such as immobility, cancer and surgery increase your risk. That’s why it’s so important that Black men stay active, eat less processed foods high in cholesterol and eat more dark greens (collard greens, spinach, etc) to help keep your arteries clean.
Originally from Texas, Windell attended Sterling College and then went on to receive an MFA from the University of California, Irvine for acting. He got his professional start acting on Disney channel shows including The Suite Life on Deck and Hannah Montana.
