Moisturizing Milk Beauty Recipes

Milk is not only great for your bones, it has amazing benefits topically for the skin. It began as an ancient beauty secret that Egyptian royalty swore by for beauty maintenance. The high levels of vitamins A,D and E that are found in dairy products are not only good for anti-inflammatory issues, but also for healing and moisturizing the skin. The lactic acid is also great for light exfoliation. Try any of these recipes to see these wonderful benefits come to life!

Chocolate Milk Bath

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole milk or 2 cups of powdered milk
  • 5 tbsp fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 3 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • ½ cup Epsom salt
  • 1 cup cornstarch

Directions

  1. Mix all of your ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Pour the liquid mixture into your bathtub.
  3. Soak for at least 20 minutes.

Milk and Honey Facial Scrub

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp of whole milk
  • 3 tbsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp raw oatmeal, crumbled

Directions

  1. Mix all your ingredients together creating a thick paste.
  2. Apply the mixture onto already clean skin.
  3. Massage for a few minutes with your fingers.
  4. Rinse the scrub with lukewarm water and a washcloth.
  5. Pat dry.

Honey-Cucumber Cleansing Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 2 tbsp clear honey
  • 1 small cucumber, peeled and seeded
  • 1 tbsp whole milk

Directions

  1. Boil 1 cup of tea.
  2. Leave the chamomile bag in the cup to steep and cool.
  3. Peel, de-seed, and mash your cucumber.
  4. Strain out the pulp with a fork to retain the juice.
  5. Stir the honey into the cucumber juice.
  6. Add the milk.
  7. Apply this mixture onto your skin with a cotton pad or washcloth.
  8. Use your cooled chamomile tea or water to gently wipe off the milk.
