Remembering Bobbi Kristina: “I Have An Angel Around Me”

The past few years have been a rollercoaster ride emotionally for R&B singer Bobby Brown. He’s had his run-ins with the law over drug possession and use, went back on tour with his New Edition family, his ex-wife, famed superstar Whitney Houston, was found dead due to an apparent drug overdose. But one of the hardest things Brown says he had to deal with and is still dealing with is his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death. After she was found unresponsive in a bathtub, she died only months later.

This week, Bobby Brown has paid tribute to Bobbi Kristina on the anniversary of her death.

The New Edition alum tweeted a video of Bobbi Kristina Brown singing Adele’s “Someone Like You” along with an advertisement for the National Domestic Violence Hotline on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, which marked two years since the aspiring singer passed away after almost six months in a coma.

He captioned the video: “I [purple heart] you BabyGirl #BobbyKristina. Today we remember you #BobbiKristina ? #eN?ough #LoveShouldntHurt ? ? SAY HER NAME – NEVER FORGET IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE IS IN IMMEDIATE DANGER PLEASE CALL 911 !! We have established a relationship with The National Domestic Violence Hotline. If you are in need of help and resources NOW please visit http://www.thehotline.org/ They have operators live now in every state to assist you with your immediate needs. #eNough #stopdomesticviolence”

Last year, Bobbi’s boyfriend Nick Gordon was ordered to pay her family $36M after being found legally responsible for her death.

During the civil trial, the judge heard testimony from Bobbi’s famous father, as well as some of her friends, as he assessed the losses and attempted to place a value on her life.

The damages awarded in the case — which alleged Bobbi Kristina died due to a violent altercation with Gordon, “after which he placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture” — included $15M for…

… present value of life, $13.8M for pain and suffering as a result of assault, $250,000 in punitive damages, $1.37 million for assault and battery and $1.575 million for money taken from an account, including allegedly stolen rings.

How does Bobby deal with it all? He said he takes life day by day and remembers, that he has angels around him now.

“Angels are keeping me on the right path,” explained Brown. “What keeps me moving is that I know I have more angels now watching over me. My mom, her [Bobbi Kristina], even Whitney.”
