Is it that close to the end of his term already? They don’t have to leave do they? I feel like they just got here! That’s the way many of us feel when we count down the days until President Obama and the First family leave the White House for the last time. Especially with uncertainty about what the next president holds for a country divided.
That’s why the celebration BET put on for President Obama, Love & Happiness, An Obama Celebration was so needed and beautiful. Last night was full of stars, from Dave Chappelle and Samuel L. Jackson, to Janelle Monet and Yolanda Adams, the room was full of who’s who in Hollywood and today’s R&B, soul and hip-hop.
While watching the star-studded celebration, people took to twitter to express their love for the First Black President of the United States with the hashtag, #ThankYouObama.
This was a President that people could see themselves in. Someone who was down the earth but knowledgeable. Hard but loving. Stern, but a family man — all wrapped into one. Plus, he did all of this without scandal, without indictments, and without Congress since they tried to block him at every turn.
We, at BlackDoctor.org just want to say “Thank You” for all that you have done President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and Sasha and Malia. Thank you for being such a shining example and motivation for many of us to get more involved in politics.
