Tyson’s Foods Inc. is recalling 75,320 lbs of frozen white meat chicken nuggets sold at Sam’s Club stores nationwide after discovering the food contained pieces of plastic that have caused “minor oral injuries” to consumers, the company and the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.
Tyson, the largest meat producer in the U.S., said the recall is for five-pound bags of frozen chicken nuggets.

“A small number of consumers who contacted the company indicated they had found small pieces of plastic in the nuggets,” the company said in a statement on its website.
The bags of chicken nuggets were produced on two days on a single line at one of the company’s 40 chicken production facilities, Tyson said. In addition, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service recalled 20-pound bulk packs of Tyson’s “spare time fully cooked nugget-shaped breast patty fritters with rib meat.”
