UPDATE as of December 1, 2015:
“Baby Buns” is now 6 weeks old!  The premature baby that we’ve grown to love along with his adorable parents has turned 6 weeks after coming into the world 16 weeks early.

A message from the family is posted on their Facebook page:

“Kaleb is progressing well, they continue to reduce his ventilator settings so he is now breathing more on his own. He is drinking 9.5 ML every 2 hours (approximately 4 oz every 24 hours) As of yesterday he is 1 LB 13 OZ, he has doubled his original body weight, God is great.

Today I would like to say THANK YOU TO for all the acts of kindness. We’ve read every card to Kaleb (Keelyn read every card sent to him) thank you for the gifts, gift cards and donations submitted on the GoFundMe account. We try to send thank you cards to everyone who mailed something to us but some didn’t include return address and we’ve received some return mail. I want to share pictures to let you all know we appreciate you so much. Kaleb remains in he hospital, so we have no idea what he will need once he comes home, but you all created so many possibilities for us.”

The baby’s here! Dana Griffin-Graves, the wife of Arkell Graves, whose video went viral after the announcement of their pregnancy delivered her baby yesterday at 24 weeks and one day. After 17 years, 4 miscarriages and one still birth, their prayers have been answered!

While we still are awaiting information on how baby and mommy are doing, we are overjoyed that the birth was a success.

In a Facebook note, the baby boy’s aunt, Melanie Griffin-Hamlin, released this message after the birth:

The baby boy’s name, Kaleb Arkell Graves, or as some are calling him “baby buns” because of the buns announcement viral video, has a very special meaning. On the official family facebook page, this was posted during labor:

The couples faith and power of belief kept them this far and they said that they will still continue to lean on prayer as their journey through parenthood takes shape.

“We are believing God. It’s always been in His Hands, so we hold on to Him.
Please keep us in your prayers today and always.”

Only a few weeks ago, Graves told her husband she was pregnant in a viral video that 8News shared last month. She had planted the baby’s ultrasound photos right next to a package of buns in the oven. When her husband figured it out, he broke down into tears of joy.

And today as of 2:02p.m. CST, even while basking in the glow of  being new parents, Arkell and Dana they took time out to thank everyone for their prayers. The statement on their facebook page reads:

“The love and support from all over is amazing! Thank you for your continued prayers. Our miracle is giving HOPE back to so many and we are blessed to be a part of it! God bless each of you!”
