Famed herbal healer, pathologist, and naturalist holistic Dr. Sebi died at the age 82 in 2016. Dr. Sebi gained notoriety from claiming to heal the body from diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and even AIDS. Events surrounding his death are still a little sketchy. Sources say he died at a hospital after contracting pneumonia while being held in police custody.
According to his webpage, Dr. Sebi was born Alfredo Bowman in Honduras in 1933 and spent “decades studying the plants and herbs of North, South and Central America, Africa and the Caribbean.”
Dr. Sebi’s website sold a variety of tonics, capsules, and powders. All of them under the “Cell-Food” label. Most products were based on the premise of feeding the cells the “God-given foods ordained to maintain a healthy body.” Products included Banju – a product to stimulate the brain and central nervous system and be extremely effective for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder as well as Bio Ferrel – a powerful blood nourisher and purifier.
Sebi came to the United States as a self-educated man who was diagnosed with asthma, diabetes, impotency, and obesity. After unsuccessful treatments with conventional doctors and traditional western medicine, Sebi was lead to an herbalist in Mexico. In recent news, the late rapper Nipsey Hussle had been working on a documentary about the Dr. Sebi before his death. But since Hussle untimely death on March 31, 2019, Nick Cannon said he would be “picking up the baton” and taking on Hussle’s work and is believed to have finished the documentary.

Those who sought treatment from Dr. Sebi include Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC, actor Steven Seagal, and even Michael Jackson.
Dr. Sebi uses an African approach to disease, that diametrically opposes the traditional Western approach to medicine.
